Official San Augustine County records must be requested from the office that created or maintains them. The sheriff handles many arrest, booking, and jail records. The District Clerk holds local felony case files, while the County Clerk maintains the applicable misdemeanor files. Texas DPS supplies statewide criminal-history products. The contacts below route each request to its proper government custodian.

This Is Not a Government Office. This private resource cannot retrieve official records, conduct a state check, correct a file, or accept an expunction or nondisclosure filing. Contact the government custodian directly.

Use the record type to choose the correct San Augustine County or Texas office:

  • Felony case files: District Clerk, San Augustine County Courthouse, 100 W Columbia, Room 202, San Augustine, TX 75972; 936-275-2231; Monday through Thursday 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Friday 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
  • Class A and B misdemeanor files: County Clerk, 223 N Harrison, San Augustine, TX 75972; 936-275-2452
  • Arrest, booking, and jail records: San Augustine County Sheriff's Office, 219 N Harrison, San Augustine, TX 75972; 936-275-2424; fax 936-275-5133
  • State criminal history: Texas Department of Public Safety Crime Records Service
  • Police reports and incident records: contact the agency that wrote the report through the official city and police directory
  • Expunction and nondisclosure: confirm the correct filing route with the court clerk and compare the state nondisclosure forms

The sheriff's official page does not name a separate records division or publish counter hours, a request form, or a fee schedule. Its posted Citizen Complaint Form concerns staff complaints and is not a records-request form. Call 936-275-2424 before visiting. For a felony judgment, docket, or certified case document, use the District Clerk rather than the sheriff. The clerk also lists distclerk@co.san-augustine.tx.us and fax 936-275-2389. The County Attorney page is a separate office contact, not a substitute for either clerk.
